- Collaborate with students on research and presentations related to the counselor profession.
- Provide campus coordination for the National Certified Counselor credentialing exam.
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential internship sites and supervisors through networking and engaging the community.
- Develops and maintains a list of internship sites appropriate for CMHC students.
- Mentor and advise students while on practicum and internship placements.

Courses:
Assessment & Evaluation of Individuals (COUN 504)
This course will examine group and individual psychometric theories and approaches to appraisal. The course will address data and information-gathering methods, validity and reliability, psychometric statistics, factors influencing appraisals, the use of appraisal results in helping processes. The course will also consider the specific ability to administer and interpret tests and inventories to assess abilities, interests, and identify career options.
Practicum (COUN 505)
Students will complete 100 hours of supervised counseling practice. Student will need to complete 40 direct hours and 60 indirect hours. The focus will be on the development and application of clinical skills. Emphasis will be placed on the major perspectives of counseling including how a Christian worldview impacts practice. Faculty approval is required prior to registration.
Social & Cultural Foundations (COUN 506)
Provides an advanced overview of contemporary theory and research in the social and cultural foundations of human behavior. The course addresses the multicultural contexts shaping our personal relationships and social lives.
Life-Span Development (COUN 602)
Provides an advanced overview of current research and theory on life-span human development relevant to counseling practice and mental health. Emphasis will be placed on physical, cognitive, emotional, spiritual, and social development as well as on issues such as diversity and socialization in relation to perceptions of human development.
Career Development (COUN 604)
Provides an overview of the major career development theories and decision-making models. Emphasis is on the critical examination of vocation and career development theories and their application to the counseling process.
Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling (COUN 606)
Overview of the theories of marriage, couples, and family counseling. Critically examines current systems of marriage, couple and family counseling from a Christian perspective sensitive to religious, cultural, and racial diversity. Emphasis is on family systems and attachment theory and its application to counseling practice.

This synchronous face-to-face course examined the history, purpose, principles, and methods of assessment; techniques and instruments employed in measuring abilities, achievement, interests, and personality; statistical procedures, and measurement limitations, especially among children. Relationship of assessment to the objectives of the school and counseling procedures.
Career Counseling & Education (CED 6020)
This asynchronous course examined career counseling approaches throughout the lifespan—developmentally appropriate career programming in education and agency settings. Occupational information sources and self-awareness are emphasized.
Practicum: Clinical Mental Health (CED 6930)
This hybrid course introduced the student to various clinical mental health counselors' functions. Students will be applying prior classroom knowledge to work with clients under the supervision of the university or community supervisor. Supervision was provided by video/audio taping or direct observation of professional interventions with clients in individual, triadic, and group formats.
